Water System to Conduct Emergency Leak Detection

Tuesday, June 16 @ 10:00 am - 1:00 pm

Please be advised that Ford River Township will be conducting emergency leak detection and locating activities within the water distribution system. To safely complete this work and identify the source of a suspected water system leak, it will be necessary to temporarily shut down water service in the affected area.

Date of Shutdown: June 16, 2026

Time: 10:00 PM – 1:00 AM

Affected Area(s): Properties located from E4592 M-35 through E5113 M-35

During this time, customers in the affected area may experience a complete loss of water service or reduced water pressure.

Once service is restored, some customers may also notice temporary discoloration of their water due to changes in water flow within the system. If this occurs, run cold water from a faucet for several minutes until the water clears. Avoid washing laundry until the water runs clear.

Due to the loss of water pressure during this shutdown, residents in the affected area will be placed under a Boil Water Notice upon restoration of service. The Boil Water Notice will remain in effect until required bacteriological sampling has been completed and satisfactory results have been received. This process is expected to take several days. Additional notification will be provided when the Boil Water Notice has been lifted.

We apologize for the inconvenience and appreciate your patience and cooperation as we work to identify and address this issue within the township’s water system. If you have any questions or concerns, please contact:
